REVIEW OF SHAMUS DUST

DARK LONDON NOIR

"London, the aftermath of world war 2 , a body is found, shot twice. A local councillor who owns the building where the body is found calls in an American private investigator, or Shamus, called 'Newman' our protagonist. We never learn his full name.

The story itself is full of greed, corruption and lies. It's a serious tale, a real Murder Mystery.

This book is very well written. The writing is refined and elegant, it is not a fast read, miss a word and you may lose the trail of the plot altogether. I took my time to read this book over the course of maybe 10-12 days.

It really draws you into to its dark and gritty world. In a sense that kind of made this review a little difficult, and not wanting to make comparisons, but I felt like I was at times watching a black and a white movie from the 20's. It's very Noir,

Newman is interesting and a quite morose but deeply immersive character.

Gloomy, Murky and Darkly compelling.

A Recommended Read."
