JAKE NEEDHAM is an American screen and television writer who started writing crime novels when he realized he didn't really like movies and television all that much. Since then, he has published eleven titles in The Mean Streets Crime Novels series.
Recently he was kind enough to review SHAMUS DUST and had this to say:
"Prose so smooth, so sweet, so swinging it will dance you straight back to the 1940s and make you the star of every black and white crime noir you ever watched at 2:00am with a glass of whisky in your hand. A wonderful, wonderful book."
Jake Needham may be an American novelist, but he's the first to admit that his books are far better known outside the United States than they are in it. His novels have been popular best-sellers in Europe and Asia going back twenty years now, but none of them has ever been published in America.
Hong Kong Magazine said: 'Jake Needham is the best known American writer almost no one in America has ever heard of.' ... And for my money that's a crime that needs investigating!
For nearly thirty years, Jake Needham lived and worked all over the world. He, his wife, and their two sons now divide their time between homes in the US and Thailand. Of this he says: "The romantic notion of the American expatriate novelist living an exciting life in some exotic land pretty much disappeared after Hemingway and Fitzgerald abandoned Paris, but there are still a few of us out there." And I'm certainly with him all the way on that one!
And of course you can buy all his books on Amazon
